How much do you charge?

Pricing for all custom jackets start at $550. Exact pricing is dependent upon size, detail and therefore timing needed to complete the piece. This DOES NOT include the item itself.

Do you supply items for customization?

Generally, no. I usually let the client provide the item(s) they wish to customize. This ensures the item(s) are affable and fit well. If you would like for me to supply the item(s) then the cost of the item will be added to your total. PLEASE please please make sure you have the correct sizing, color, etc. for your items that you’re having me order. All customized pieces are final sale.

Do you only paint jackets?

Nope! Pretty much anything I can get my hands on I’ll paint. I also paint shoes, handbags, accessories, clothing, sports equipment, home decor and more. Surfaces include: leather, faux or vegan leather, suede, denim, canvas, plastic, metal, wood and even furniture.

Again, pricing varies and is dependent upon design.

How long does it take to paint something?

Typical timing from inquiry to completed piece is about 6-10 weeks.

How are payments taken?

Payments may be made via debit, credit or direct bank transfer. I DO NOT accept checks, cash, Venmo, Zelle or PayPal. There are no returns or exchanges on custom painted items. All sales are final.

What’s your return policy?

Because each hand painted customized item takes many many hours to complete and is one of a kind there are absolutely no refunds, returns or exchanges on custom orders or ready to wear retail items from the site.

How does shipping work?

You, the client, are responsible for shipping out a piece you’d like me to work on. I provide standard shipping back to you for FREE within the U.S. and ship from New Jersey. If you live outside of the U.S., have a large piece, require 2 day or overnight shipping, you are responsible for all shipping costs including customs and tax.

Once the item is out of our hands and in the delivery services care Lovey Dovey Designs is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen packages. Every shipment has a tracking number attached to it.

Will you paint me, a portrait or copy another artist’s work like Van Gogh’s starry night?

NO. However I will make an exception IF the subject matter can be incorporated in a very unique way. Blatant copying is wrong and boring.

What is a Mock Up?

Using photoshop I’ll create a digital mock up of what your finalized piece will look like. You’ll receive 2-4 variations on your design idea with pricing. Your finalized piece may not look EXACTLY like the mock up due to differences in sizing, style, and artistic license aka vision. I may need to shift things around, take away, or add on elements. This ensures you get the best design that flows properly. Any major changes such as font alterations or placement will be discussed before the change is made.

I highly recommend sending pics of your item(s) when contacting me or with your deposit to fully envision the end result as best as possible.

What type of products do you use to paint apparel and accessories?

I use Angelus acrylic paints and additives. These paints are specially formulated to endure years of wear. The paint will not chip or crack and bends and flexes as you move.

How do I care for a custom painted piece?

Your item(s) should be treated like fine art. Yes, they can be worn out in inclement weather but with care. Each custom order will receive detailed care instructions and when in doubt you can always contact me for advice.
